Awards Dinner at the Seattle Aquarium

The Seattle Aquarium is the ninth largest aquarium in the U.S. by attendance and among the top five paid visitor attractions in the Puget Sound region. Since opening, they have hosted over 22 million visitors and provided marine conservation education to over 1.6 million school children.

Awards for the Western Area Engineer of the Year, Richard F. Stratfull Service Award, and Outstanding Company Award will be handed out by the NACE Western Area.

Theodore D. Harrington Scholarship – This scholarship provides funding for courses related to the field of corrosion control.

Western Area Engineer of the Year Award

The Western Area Engineer of the Year Award is given to a NACE member residing in the Western Area in recognition of outstanding technical contributions to the field of a) corrosion education; b) understanding of corrosion causes; c) practices and methods for corrosion control; d) public awareness of the cost of corrosion and ways to control corrosion; e) papers and presentations at section, area, and/or national conferences; f) publications in NACE and/or other technical journals; g) participation in NACE Technical Practices Committees (TPC) and/or comparable committees in other technical organizations; h) professional recognition of corrosion engineering.

Western Area Richard F. Stratfull Service Award

The Western Area Richard F. Stratfull Service Award is given to a NACE member residing in the Western Area in recognition of outstanding service. Appreciable contributions of time and talents, above and beyond the normal duties and assignments, are recognized in one or more of the following: a) served the Western Area well as an Area officer; b) served a Section well as a Section officer; c) served the Area or Section with distinction during a term or ad hoc assignment; d) performed outstanding service at one or more corrosion seminars in the Western Area; e) performed outstanding service at one or more conferences in the Western Area; f) increased public awareness of the NACE organization within the Western Area.

Western Area Outstanding Company Award

The Western Area Outstanding Company Award is given to a NACE member company residing in the Western Area in recognition of its support for NACE and participation by its employees. Appreciable contributions of time are recognized in one or more of the following: a) served Western Area well as an Area Exhibitor; b) served a Section well as a Section Exhibitor; c) served the Area and Section with distinction; d) performed outstanding service at one or more corrosion seminars in the Western Area; e) performed outstanding service at one or more conferences in the Western Area; f) increased public awareness of the NACE organization within the Western Area.
